The Winter Garden Station on the West Orange Trail is east of downtown. The Winter Garden Station is one of the locations you can find bikes to rent and a shaded place to sit and take a break. There are 4 acres here with parking, a playground and plenty of room to take it all in. Wheelworks can provide you with a variety of ways to traverse the trail.
A little over 5 miles after leaving Killarney Station on the western end of the West Orange Trail you will reach the Winter Garden Station. This station was too large to place in the downtown area which is why you will find it here. Directly outside the entrance you will find Plant Street which of course leads to downtown. Like Rome all roads here seem to lead you toward downtown. So does the trail and if you pick it up here you will soon be at Centennial Plaza right in the middle of Downtown Winter Garden just 1/3 of a mile away. Chapin Station another great place to stop or start is around 2 miles to the north.
There are of course guidelines and rules to use when visiting this park. Namely keep to your right unless passing, let others know when you are passing and those on wheels should yield to those who are not. Dogs should be on leash no longer than 6 feet and clean up after your pets please. Other guidelines to make sure everyone enjoys the park are posted/ available at the local stations.
Wheelworks provides a variety of rentals. There are no motorized vehicles along the trail except for emergency vehicles and occasional police patrols. You can reach Wheelworks using the following information.
Enjoy the day there will be thousands of others doing the same. Keep in mind that while 911 is for emergencies 311 is for reporting maintenance and similar non emergencies. Maybe I will see you at the Winter Garden Station on the West Orange Trail.
