Killarney Station is located on the western end of the West Orange Trail. This station also marks the southern beginning of the Lake Minneola Scenic Trail which is actually in Lake County FL. The Lake Minneola Trails is about 5 miles long and if you look closely you can even spot some of the railroad tracks along side of the trail. Some of those tracks are now protruding out of trees.
The Killarney Station is a shining example of what Orange County's parks should look like. This is a great facility with a playground and lots of beautiful shade trees as well. This station is also one of the places you can rent bicycles and actually find space to park your vehicle before you start off on your journey. The station has about 4 acres worth of parking and attractions. Just a few miles to the east you will reach the Winter Garden Station.
This station is actually at mile marker zero. For those who are new to the trail there is a marker on the trail about every 500 feet with a number on it. These are mile markers to allow those who need services of any type to report their location or the location of the problem. Of course 911 is for emergencies but 311 is for non emergencies.
Bikes and Blades handles the renting of equipment for park visitors. If you need or would prefer to rent equipment they are open for business from 9 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday. On Saturday, Sunday and holidays they are open from 7:30 AM to 5 PM. Enjoy your time and journey along the West Orange Trail and the best place to start is at the Killarney Station.
