The Apopka Station is the northernmost station on the West Orange Trail. The Apopka Station is not at the end of the trail but it is rather near to it. Above is a slideshow of what you can expect to find there. As you can see it is a fairly decent place to visit.
The Apopka Station does not have bicycle rentals any more. At one time you could lease the available space at the station and Orange County may once again lease the space to someone or some company. For now there is parking and a nice playground area. Also nearby is a park area with other attractions. This facility only sets on a little more than one acre. To the south the stations set on 12 acres each and have much more to offer.
The West Orange Trail is around 22 miles long. You can continue from the Apopka Station and complete the Apopka Trail which is around 60 miles around the lake if you are so inclined. Keep in mind the trails are usually open from sunrise to sunset.
Bike Rentals are not available here. You will have to rent one at Winter Garden Station or Killarney. Chapin Station to the south is the County Office and has no rentals. An electric bike can be rented and has a decent range (20+ Miles). The range depends on many factors but you can also peddle which can greatly increase the bikes range. If you get a rental we advise you to use a helmet and a bicycle securing cable in case you choose to stop in town or another attraction. Have a great time and enjoy the West Orange Trail and hopefully Apopka Station.
