Nearly 1950 homes sold in the previous year. That is quite a bit when you consider the last few months and all of the negativity that we all see on the television each day. The previous year there were over 2,500 homes that sold here. Where will the 2023 numbers reach? Probably lower and prices will also begin to decrease. As demand for lumber etc. decreases so do the prices for lumber. When I checked lumber futures this week they were down. As Lowes, and other lumber yards sell their existing supplies the prices will fall and the same applies to many other home related items.
The interest rates will and should rise throughout the year. I am just a humble realtor but I have watched interest rates for 40 years of my life. If you have a home and a great rate I would hold onto that property. Eventually prices will again surge and probably significantly higher than they are today. Buyers will get used to the idea of higher interest rates. Besides it is fairly easy to refinance if you have good credit.
