Winter Garden offers residents a safe place to live in Central Florida. Trust me this is one of the safest areas to live in Central Florida and I often commute all over it. I have never had a concern in this city or Windermere like I feel in Downtown Orlando which has a higher crime rate. We still have that small town feel where people are appreciated.
Why will you love Winter Garden Florida? First the Winter Garden residents. While the population tends to keep to our own business generally everyone is polite even in traffic. Maybe that is because living in this community provides you with a life that has gotten better in the last decade and a family can focus on itself and not negativity.
Living in Winter Garden places you close to the theme parks. Walt Disney World is kind of a thing to many Florida residents. To be honest we only visit when we have family visit us that want to go to the parks. Most of the time Walt Disney World has no effect on us although it does benefit local Orlando area's local businesses and real estate.
Winter Garden Florida usually has events such as the Winter Garden farmer's market on Saturday. You will be pleasantly surprised as it is one of the best in all of Central Florida. The weather is usually great and the cost to attend is free. When you are interested in attending you will find it is located downtown. Yes there is still fresh produce to be purchased there and maybe even from nearby orange groves but there is much more.
Winter Garden Florida has been around for over 100 years. Actually Colonial Drive (highway 50) has been around for over 100 years. Clarke Gable used to frequent this city because he loved fishing Lake Apopka. Winter Garden history is easily discovered in the downtown area. The Heritage Museum and Historic Theater are both great places to start learning about the town's history. When you need a break you can visit one of the many restaurants on Plant Street.
We all love to dine out when we can or need to. In this city you will always have access to local restaurants. In the south part of the zip code you have them in the Hamlin area. In the northern portion of the city there are hundreds to choose from. Most will have their favorites but you can explore the ones around the Winter Garden Village or Downtown Winter Garden.
Most of the health care is provided by Orlando Health. There are clinics everywhere and a new Orlando Health hospital is in Horizon West. Living in Winter Garden you are very close to a city named Ocoee which has a very large hospital on the south side of Colonial Drive.
