Yes it is worth renting from both the landlord and tenant perspective. As a tenant or someone considering becoming one it is often best to rent. How long will you be living in an area? If less than 5-7 years I would most likely rent and yes I have rented for those same reasons.
Sometimes great people have great challenges. Divorce, bad credit, being forced to start over and the like. These people should often rent instead of buy. Get settled, learn what you really want and get yourself headed in the right direction.
