There are plenty of gated communities in Winter Garden FL area. Gated communities get rare when you venture southward into Horizon West because the local government limits them. I live within a gated community and prefer them. If you and I share that feeling then you are in the right place to find your dream home or just to rent luxury homes.
Gated communities in Winter Garden FL normally can be found close to lakes and places of interest. They often but not always have the nicer homes with slightly bigger lots within them. Horizon West has only a few and most of them were built before the area really took off.
As you drive around the Horizon West area you may find yourself thinking, "that neighborhood should be gated" quite often. However, there are a lot of very nice new construction neighborhoods with very expensive homes which are open because so many people get deliveries, maintenance workers frequent better communities etc. By maintenance I mean pool services, lawn services and the like.
Why choose one of the Winter Garden FL gated communities to live in? Some people will say that gated communities do not lower crime. My response is what kind of crimes? They certainly make the streets safer and offer a deterrent to some who would have nefarious intentions. When your loved ones or visitors choose to walk around the community on those cool evenings etc.
There is less traffic on the neighborhood streets making them safer. Many people in my neighborhood drive around on golf carts etc. because the community owns the streets and we can if we want to. Its a great life.
North of Colonial Drive gated communities are rare. Lake Cove Pointe and Lakeview Reserve are great options and both have enough homes within them that you may catch one for sale. The nicer homes and newer homes near downtown Winter Garden are not in gated communities.
South of Colonial Drive you start seeing many more gated communities. Some of them also have private community boat ramps. Johns Landing, Johns Cove and Deer Island are three gated communities on Johns Lakes' northern shore. Black Lake Park is also a very nice option. Some of the nicer homes are in a hidden away community named Canopy Oaks or you may even try Bradford Creek. All great options in the central part of this city.
Winter Garden FL gated communities in the southern portion are a good option. Waterside and Hickory Hammock are both great lakefront choices. Stoneybrook West is huge, lakefront and a little bit older. There are usually community homes for sale in one of these.
A little further south and there is a hidden gem named the Isles of Lake Hancock. Some of the nicest homes in Horizon West are in those neighborhoods. However you will be missing out on communities like Avalon Cove and the Overlook at Hamlin if you restrict yourself to just the Gated communities in Winter Garden FL.
